Referral marketing — the practice of promoting products or services to new customers by word of mouth -- is a natural fit with social media. In order to effectively participate in a referral relationship you must help the person referring you by being both visible and credible. By using mobile smartphones and tablets you can bring your reputation, contacts, and the reputation of others with you. Finally, mobile technology helps you to accelerate the follow up process for referral related action items — in the moment instead of back at the desktop.
In this webinar Jim and Carol will discuss how they use social media and mobile technology to improve the systematic process of referral marketing. The discussion will cover the following:
• Show and tell, don’t web and wait
• Options for sharing a digital portfolio with the option to revoke access
• Five ideas for facilitating loose partnerships
• Lesson on how digital natives use a conference as a social media opportunity to connect with others
• Six mobile habits that will keep you out of your office
• Decision tree for choosing a tablet and a smartphone
• Three reasons you can (and should) leave your laptop behind
• Meaningful recommendations are the best way to receive giver’s gain
• One innovative strategy to WOW your referral partners and prospects (Hint: It involves a finger instead of a mouse)
Jim Hogan, co-author of Improv to Improve Your Business; Using the Principles of Improvisation to Foster Communication, Creativity and Innovation, is a coach, trainer, author and public speaker for the Referral Institute of Atlanta.
